East Riverside Development

Southshore Development

Make way Austin, Riverside as we all know it will soon be completely changed if it hasn’t already shown progress, the set time frame is to be done as early as 2014, a $200 million development is set to transition the older run down parts of Austin, to now upscale living. The whole advancement will bring 800 chic, well designed apartment homes to the area with a span of 25 acres. Not only do they have prime access to Downtown which is only 2 miles away, dog parks, and front views of Lady Bird Lake, the expansion hopes to completely fulfill the evolution and revolve into more of a lifestyle than what it has been in all of our minds. The residents of Austin, will now have more of a option with a great living, not to mention the ability to improve this area dramatically, with accessibility for a bike ride, paddle-boarding, or just walk to the local bars or coffee shops . . . The Grayco Partners are the minds behind it all, and the south shore project will most definitely be a hit.

Austin – Poised For Greatness In 2012

According to Main Street’s article, Austin is on that list of 10 cities that are “Poised For Greatness In 2012”. The article cites Austin’s lower than the national average in both unemployment (being at 6.6%) and home prices in the Austin real estate market (4.7% below the national average).

It goes on to talk about how great the city is with tourism niches like all the music and film festivals that happen throughout each year. Those festivals obviously being South by Southwest, Austin City Limits, Fun Fun Fun, and the Austin Music Festival. It also notes the amount of jobs given to the capital city from the state, University of Texas and other private-sector employment that have helped Austin all but dodge the full brunt of the recession most of the country has seen over the past handful of years.

The other cities on the list, which has no particular order, are:

Indianapolis, Indiana
New Orleans, Louisiana
Chicago, Illinois
Tampa, Florida
Charlotte, North Carolina
London, England
San Jose, California
Houston, Texas
Rochester, New York

Austin Makes NewNowNext List For Best US Destinations

NewNowNext is an online site that is completely up to date with the newest trends around the webs and world alike. The first annual NewNowNext Travel Awards came in, and Austin, Texas placed as one of the best US Destinations available.

The site blurbs about the Capital City:

The capital of Texas seduces any lucky soul who visits. And Darren Frei is one such admirer. Why? “Because it’s soooooo laid back, with some of this country’s best regional cuisine, coolest music venues, and quirkiest art galleries.”

The apparent winner of the category, Best US Destination, went to New York City, and was followed in seemingly no order by: Alaska, Austin, TX, Las Vegas, NV, Minneapolis, MN, and San Francisco, CA.

NewNowNext polled professional travel writers, and got them to give nominations for the 10 categories. From their input they put the nominees up to a poll from readers of the site. To view the rest of them you can check out their site, and view the blog yourself. Categories stem from Favorite Travel Show to Best Global Destination.

Austin Top 10’s Again

Austin Real Estate was ranked in the top 10 (the city came in 7th) in the top searches for Real Estate countrywide last year, Realtor.com reported. With a surplus of residential and commercial real estate, and homes for sale or lease, Austin had a great boost after not appearing on the list for the first four months of the year. The city ranked highest in the month of October when it ranked the 4th after being ousted from the list in September.

Another Reason to Purchase Austin Real Estate.

Forbes has recently named Austin the best city for young adults!    Another award for our awesome city.  With articles like this being published about Austin I don’t think it is a secret why we have so many people migrating to the capital city.  This is one of many articles I have read that keep delivering great press for the Austin real estate market.  Austin is no longer the best kept secret in the midwest.  I know several young adults that have moved here instead of moving to other big cities.  Austin has an amazing vibe with a relatively low cost of living.

The more people Austin attracts the better it will be for the Austin real estate market over the long term.  The immediate impact as people migrate to Austin is they will need a place to live.  They will decide to rent a home or purchase a home.  This will help Austin maintain the high occupancy rate that has helped investors cash flow.  If they decide to purchase the buyers will help keep the supply and demand in check in the Austin real estate market.
